Horseback Riding at Bronx Equestrian Center

Few weeks ago I decided to put my big girl panties on and try horseback riding. I went to the Bronx Equestrian Center with a group of lovely girls who - for the most part - was also trying horseback riding for the first time. We were hoping for a fun filled adventurous day.

Being a first time rider, I was quite scared along with the girls. The staff at The Bronx Equestrian Center has the worst customer service I have ever seen. First, they rushed us onto the horses even though we are first timers. The girls who did not get onto their horse as quickly as the staff would like, was yelled at. According to the staff, 'they have a group coming after us and we are holding up time'. One of the girls did not get on a horse and demanded her money back. I don't know if they are racist or what but I did not feel comfortable. However we were already there so we carried on with the trail ride.

The horses were quite calm and directing them was easy as they already know the trail. The trail was quite easy and was nice being in the woods. I still couldn't believe I was on a horse. Lol! It was a nice experience. Its always good to do something you have never done before.

When we arrived back to the stables, the bad treatment from the staff messed up the great experience we just got from our trail ride with the horses. We asked to get a group picture with us on the horse. Instead, we were rushed off the horses as if we did not pay these people. I give this place 1 Star. Staff is just plain horrible. If you are in New York and want to do trail rides on a horse, do yourself a favor and give someone else your money.

I had a great time with the girls and the horses. I just wished the staff was more respectful.

  1. Sorry the service was so bad here. If you're ever in the mood to go horseback riding again, I recommend the Jamaica Bay Riding Academy in Brooklyn. I've been here a couple of times and the service was great. Here's the link: http://www.horsebackride.com/packages-and-pricing.html

  2. Wow, that sucks! If there is one thing I can't take, it's bad customer service. ESPECIALLY after I've already given you my $. On the flip side, glad you had fun and of course, your hair looks great!
