Homemade Remedies

Below are a few Natural Remedies that I like to use.

Moisturizing Leave in conditioner:

What You Need:

  • Aloe Vera juice (1 cup)
  • Honey (2 tablespoon ) I skip this item in the winter
  • Castor oil (1 tablespoon)
  • Virgin Coconut oil (2 tablespoon)
  • Tea Tree Oil (4 drops)

Benefits: leaves hair moisturized and shiny. The aloe vera juice is very moisturizing. Honey is a natural humectant so it draws moisture from the air. Hence why I do not use honey in my leave-in during the dry weather.

Mix in a Spray bottle and enjoy!

DIY Deep conditioner or pre-poo (on dry hair):

What You Need:

  • Honey (2 teaspoon)
  • Virgin Olive oil / Ojon (1 teaspoon)
  • Tea Tree Oil  (3 drops)
  • Conditioner for slip (2 teaspoon)

Note: Deep conditioning with oils is better on dry hair. Remember from science class, oils sit on top of water. So using oils on wet hair won't do much deep penetration.

Massage the goodness into hair and scalp. Put cap on for 25 to 30 mins.

Eczema Hair&Body Treatment (and moisture sealant):

What You Need:

  • Aloe Vera gel
  • Virgin Coconut oil
  • Virgin Shea butter

Benefits: Aloe vera is very moisturizing and it soothes eczema breakouts as well as keep the skin moist. It does the same for hair. It moisturizes, smooth the cuticles which help to minimize frizz and keep the hair soft. Coconut oil penetrates and conditions the hair and skin while the shea butter seal everything in.

Natural Face mask

Natural Face Mask - using Bentonite Clay

What You Need:

  • 100% Bentonite Clay (I used Aztec Brand)
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Honey

Benefit: Deep Cleans the pores of the skin and clears skin impurites. If you have eczema or any other skin condition, acne or just need to pamper the skin - then you should try this.

  1. I love these ingredients! I've been trying to come up with a relatively cheap, natural/homemade stuff. I'll give these a try and let you know how I find them
